Apart from being the head of the country at the time, Presidents George W. Bush, Thomas Jefferson, Barack Obama and almost all former heads of state have something else in common. Apparently, they were all cousins descending from King John of England. The outstanding discovery has been made by none other than a 12-year-old girl from California.

BridgeAnne D’Avignon started her school project trying to trace her own family bloodline to France but soon the genealogical quest turned into something quite bigger. The 7th-grader had to go through tons of history books and documents as well as 500,000 names in order to create the family tree linking all the presidents to King John who is known for signing the Magna Carta back in 1215. The 12-year-old student managed to prove the connection by tracing not only the male family lines but the female ones as well. BridgeAnne’s grandfather helped her along the way as he has been tracing family links for many years.

The girl has discovered that she is President Obama’s 18th cousin. BridgeAnne had wrote to the White House to share her ground breaking discovery but so far there hasn’t been much but a generic response from them. Currently, the girl is trying to raise money for a trip to Washington D.C. in order to  personally deliver a replica of her creation to the President.

Gaiola Island is a heavenly beautiful piece of land, situated just less than 100 feet off the coast of Naples, Italy. Gaiola consists of two separate tiny islets connected by a small bridge since they stand just a few feet from each other. There is a villa on one of the islets while the other one is uninhibited.

Although the scenery is really picturesque and the island seems like a magical place, it is believed that Gaiola is cursed. The reason for that is the tragic fate that everyone of the subsequent island’s owners has had. Hans Brown, one of the first owners, was found dead in the villa and soon after that his wife also passed away in mysterious circumstances. Otto Grunback who later bought the island suffered a heart attack while there. Several businessmen and industrialists who also owned the island over the years experienced bankruptcy and economic ruin. The head of Fiat, Gianni Angelli, owned the island for a short time and his only son passed away from a mysterious illness. The grandson of Paul Getty, another billionaire who owned Gaiola, was kidnapped. The last in the list of the island owners, Gianpasquale Grappone, was sent to prison after he was found guilty of insurance fraud.

Did You Know That A ‘Walking Dead’ Class Is Being Offered By….

‘The Walking Dead’ has quickly turned into one of the most watched shows on AMC. The show’s popularity has reached such heights that Irvine, the University of California is giving an online class based on it. The class called ‘Society, Science, Survival: Lessons from AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ and is taught by several professors from the Social Sciences, Public Health, Physics and Mathematics departments.

The course includes various topics such as the fundamentals of human survival, post-disaster nourishment and human conduct in a Darwin-like environment. Being so popular among different demographic groups raging from 18 to 49, the show provides a great starting point for discussing things like primary instincts such as survival, for example, and whether those instincts could suppress human values like compassion and sympathy.

Other universities such as Michigan State University and the community college in Nebraska have also offered zombie-based courses in the past. Creators of the courses claim that they do have real live application even though the zombie apocalypse situations are highly hypothetical.
