Imagine this horrifying scenario : you work at the morgue when suddenly all your zombie apocalypse nightmares become reality. The dead come back to life and scare you immensely. Anyone’s normal reaction would probably be to scream like a little girl and run.

Such a thing occurred in 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa when a man woke up screaming inside a refrigerated compartment in the local morgue. The man was declared dead after suffering from a fatal asthma attack. The body was later transported to the morgue.

After checking his vitals the undertaker then locked the body in a refrigerated sealed section of the morgue and left it there.

What happened in 21 hours could be described as a “miracle”. The workers at the morgue were horrified after hearing someone scream for help from inside the locked compartment. They were so scared that they called the police just in case “something” attempted to attack and hurt them.

After opening up the compartment they discovered the man who was presumed dead was indeed very much alive and well. Just a bit cold.

The family of the man received the good news while they were planning his funeral.
