Did You Know That A Nepalese ‘Werewolf’ Family Has Been…

Nepalese Devi Budhathoki and her three children have been suffering from ‘werewolf syndrome’ all their life. It is a rare condition medically referred to as Congenital Hypertrichosis Lanuginosa which leads to abundant hair growth in unusual places. The mother was born with thick dark hair growing on her forehead as well as other areas and so were her children as the condition is inherited most of the times. Devi was used to the way she looked but she was really worried for her children because they were often mocked and teased by their classmates.

However, once the Budhathoki found out they were going to get treated in a hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal they were really excited. Devi’s 7-year-old son even informed his friends that they would no longer have anything to tease him for as he was going to come back with a completely new face. Today, the children and their mother no longer have excessive hair on their faces. Even though the treatment might result in unpleasant side effects such as hypersensitivity or skin irritation, all the family thinks that it was worth it as their lives have completely transformed.
