If you want a piece of British history and you’re willing to live without a single window in your house, then you might want to consider the latest offer from the South West Water Authority.

Back in 1978 a 3,000sq feet bunker was built for more than a dozen staff members of the South West Water Authority in Coswarth, Newquay. The nuclear bunker’s purpose was to help the staff supply the community after Armageddon. According to the Authority’s manager, Chris Shapland, various redundant assets are auctioned off from time to time, but the bunker is the very first piece of Cold War history they have ever presented. It can be bought for £50,000 (more than $80,000). The official auction will take place on the 25th of March this year.
The bunker itself has blast-proof doors and a variety of underground rooms, including a decontamination room. The auctioned area features the bunker itself and a small area of attached land.
